Friday... mostly sports stuff...
Big day for the Raptor Franchise... can they do what Utah did, and force a Game #7?... or are they going to fold like the accordian that is the Dallas Mavericks? The homer in me says they win... the skeptic in me says they fold... well, I'm cheering them all the way. Chris Bosh needs to have a big game... doesn't need to be all about him scoring, but he has to set the tone for scoring, passing and defence... ie. Triple-double type numbers... Anthony Parker, MoPete and Joey Graham need to have big nights too, and take the pressure of the big man...
If Jose and TJ can't play, I would play a starting lineup of Parker, MoPete, Graham, Bargnani and Bosh, with Parker at the point... crazy? maybe a bit, but a bigger line-up might make Kidd a little less effective if they can keep their hands and feet active, and not let him get into position to take a 3. Kidd is not going to blow by any of these guys, so they can play him tight, and the length might bother his shot more than TJ or Jose would. I like the idea of Parker defending Kidd, but that's just me.
Meanwhile, they need to exploit the Bargnani/Mikki Moore matchup like they did in Game 5 until the Nets counter with Nachbar... at which point you just have to hope Nachbar is off his game again... otherwise we're in trouble...
The Ducks are through, which means three of my eight players are definitely safe in my NHL pool (Kuntiz, MacDonald and Niedermeyer), but it would mean a lot more if they actually scored more points!... Let's go Buffalo!
The Jays are poo... losing three straight to Cleveland. JP Riccardi has done some good things, but he's absolutely killed our farm system... there's no one to even call up to help out... They should go to Accardo for saves... Frasor is over his head, just like he was before we got BJ Ryan.
Marty York is the worst reporter ever. I think he really just copies what other people write in their blogs, and then tries to bad mouth Chuck Swirsky as much as possible.
Apparently the Swirsk has been getting a lot of flack for voting Bargnani for Rookie of the Year... surprisingly, he was the only one?! Frankly, I would have expected a lot more votes over Roy this year too... Roy certainly didn't stand out THAT much. He wasn't a real impact guy like Chris Paul was.
It's free comic book day... go get 'em!
Happy birthday to Laura on Sunday! Have an awesome day babe!
Off to waterloo tomorrow! and back hopefully for Game 7 on Sunday! GO Raps!
