DVD Review: The Fresh Prince of Belair Season 3

Season 3 of the Fresh Prince was a fun season… Will and Carlton’s last year in high school started off with Ashley joining the school, Hilary becoming a weather girl and starts dating “Trevor”, Uncle Phil becoming a judge, Vivian having a baby, and is topped off with Will having to perform “You are my Sunshine” with 8 year olds in green tights and a flower costume at Graduation. This season saw a TON of guest stars, including Oprah, Sherman Hemsley, Vanessa Williams, Heavyweight Boxing Champ Riddick Bowe, Lark Voorhies (from Saved by the Bell), Kim Fields (Tootie from Facts of Life), Tom Jones and featured the first TV appearance of D.L Hughley (later of the Hughley’s).

This season also had a great quote from Carlton when he, Will and Uncle Phil are stuck in a cave:

“For a long time it gave me nightmares... witnessing an injustice like that... it's a constant reminder of just how unfair this world can be... I can still hear them taunting him... …. silly rabbit, tricks are for kids... I mean, why couldn’t they just give him some cereal?”

Anyways, fun season to watch… This featured the last appearance of Janet Hubert-Whitten as Vivian… I always liked her better than the new Vivian they brought on (8/10).
