DVD Review: Family Ties Season 1

The premise of the show starts with a couple of hippies from the 60s raising three kids in the 80s. Michael J. Fox ends up stealing the show though as Alex P. Keaton, the oldest of the kids, who is politically and financially charged, and has no scruples. In the first season, Alex manages to leave his sister Mallory in the middle of no where after hooking up with a girl who betrayed her, and then loses his other sister while babysitting. Anyways, not too much happens in Season 1, other than they introduce Uncle Ned (Tom Hanks), who has stolen millions from his Company is being chased by the FBI, and Skippy, Alex’s friend who’s in love with Mallory. It was nostalgic to watch, but the show itself wasn’t all that great in season 1… There are NO extras on these DVDs either… I hope Season 2 is better! I seem to recall the show getting better after Mr. Keaton grows a beard... (5/10).
