Book Review: Troy: Shield of Thunder
The late David Gemmell’s second-to-last novel continues his trilogy on the Trojan War, focusing mostly on three minor creations – Kalliades, a warrior, Banokles, his loyal soldier, and Piria, a runaway princess who is trying to reach Troy to reach her ex-lover, Andromache (the wife of Hector). It’s a much better read than the first novel, and through these characters, you follow the stories of Hector, Aeneas, Odysseus, and Agammemnon, the key characters in the story of Troy. It reminded me a lot of the style from “Rome”, the HBO TV series. So overall, very good… recommended (8/10).
