Loonie bin...
The Cdn dollar is now on par with the US dollar, and so the debate has really begun... Why are we paying so much higher dollars for pretty much every product out there that's available in multiple countries?
At first I was thinking small things like Books (USD $7.99, CDN $10.99), or Alcohol, but if you think about it, we actually are now getting ripped off even bigger on things like cars... For example, did you know that if you buy an American-made car you don't pay tax on it in Canada? So a $60K car in Canada actually may only cost $40K if you go across the border and buy it in the US (so long as it's built in the US and not in Canada)?
We gotta stop this... yes, i'm all for supporting Canadian companies... but cars, books, etc... most of these things that we're getting gouged on are from American companies... so why are we paying them a 20-50% premium?
