Florence... Switzerland... trip is almost done!
Wow, does this trip ever end? Ok, ok... it's almost over...
Day 10 Florence (Firenze)
Highlight: Florence is absolutely beautiful. A nice place to just explore. Nothing really too exciting to see (other than the Statue of David), so just a nice Italian city. We enjoyed just walking around this place, and looking for leather, leather and more leather!
Lowlight: We went to some lame-o dance club... only contiki people there and 15 year old Italians (yes, the legal age for clubbing there is 15). The fun part was running through this alleyway getting there... all the people that live there apparently throw stuff at you if you make too much noise... I didn't believe it at first, but then I saw all the eggs and apple cores that were lining the street... Oh, the other lowlight was LOSING my camera!!! I left it in Rome... BUT, as with our luck on this trip, someone had stayed behind in Rome and was meeting up with us in Paris... SO, he was going to bring it back to me in Paris! How lucky was that!
Food: More Lasagna and penne! Some beef too... a big dinner including a performance by an opera singer... even the Macarena made an appearance during dinner time...
McDonalds: none
It was decided in Florence that another trip to Italy was going to have to happen in the future... Venice/Florence/Pisa for sure...
Day 11 Lucerne (Switzerland!)
Highlight: Our hotel was amazing! On the Lake front with Mountains in the background. What an amazing view! The other highlight was chocolate shopping!
Lowlight: Mount Stansihorn... we went up it, and all we saw was fog. So we had $7 french fries.
Sites: Not much else other than Mt. Stansihorn. This was our relaxing day.
Food: Nothing of note...
McDonalds: About 16 euros for a McMeal. Most expensive McDonalds in the world!
Lucerne was beautiful... and the first really clean city we'd been to. Reminded me of T.O., but with nicer scenary and cleaner air. Apparently the customs dudes are usually very thorough, but as with our ongoing luck, they just let us through. We never got stopped for customs even once on our entire tour.
Coming up: The end is near... just Paris!
